FENTYEVAL POLICIES
Privacy
Last updated: October 17, 2026
This page explains what FentyEval stores in your browser and what is sent to the app server and AI providers when you use its study features. The details can differ if you are using an instance hosted or configured by someone else.
Information kept in your browser
FentyEval does not require an account. Submitted quiz attempts and lifetime progress XP are stored in IndexedDB in the browser and on the device where you used the app. Attempt records can include generated questions, your answers, scores, answer explanations, selected units, timing, and XP. Your username and chosen profile photo are also stored in this browser's IndexedDB; the photo is resized in the browser before saving. Your display theme and achievement unlocks are saved in local storage.
Past quiz records can be deleted from the Past quizzes list. Deleting an attempt does not remove its XP from the separate progress record. To remove all browser data, use your browser's site-data controls. Clearing a chat clears the current page's conversation display; it cannot retract messages already sent to a server or provider.
Information sent for AI features
When you use AI features, the app sends relevant inputs to its backend server and the configured provider so the feature can work:
- Chat messages and the conversation history for that chat are sent to the server, which sends them to Google Gemini. Selected lesson material and quiz settings may be included when creating a quiz through chat.
- Quiz-generation requests send selected units, lesson selections, and the matching lesson content to the server, which uses Google Gemini to generate the test.
- Brightspace and DMOJ answer submissions are sent to the server for grading. For DMOJ AI answer checks, the Java source, problem details, and test cases are also sent to Groq for review.
Google and Groq process information under their own terms and privacy practices. FentyEval does not control their handling or retention. Avoid including passwords, personal details, or other sensitive information in prompts, answers, or code.
Server-side information and security
The app server processes requests and temporarily keeps active quiz-session information needed for grading; DMOJ sessions are kept in server memory for up to two hours. It also keeps cooldown timestamps in a local SQLite database, keyed by a one-way hash of the connecting host address, to enforce request limits. The server operator may have access to server data and operational logs.
AI provider keys are configured on the server and are not intended to be sent to the browser. If you use a hosted or shared FentyEval instance, ask its operator how that instance handles access, logs, backups, and deletion.
Your choices
You can choose not to use AI features, avoid entering sensitive information, delete saved quiz attempts, or clear FentyEval's browser site data. Requests already sent to the app server or an AI provider cannot be recalled from this page; contact the operator of your instance or consult the relevant provider's privacy information for questions about those copies.
